In the spirit of full transparency. I think it's important to write about AI. Artificial Intelligence has become a major tool in today's internet so it's important to note that no content published on this site has been authored by an AI. All content is written by me for you.
I make use of large language model-powered tools ("generative AI") for research, idea generation, and coding support, similar to how you might use a search engine, Stack Overflow, GitHub discussions, or ask a friend for advice but instead of there being an overwhelming amount of information, I can ask a single question and get a single answer.
These tools include public services ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and my own self-hosted model, which runs locally on solar-powered infrastructure. All outputs are verified manually using trusted sources before being integrated into any creative or technical work. That is crucial to my process.
While I use these tools to aid my process, I never rely on AI-generated text as a substitute for my own thoughts or writing. All final content reflects my voice and judgement.
I hold serious concerns regarding the ethics of generative AI, including its energy demands, training data biases, copyright and privacy issues, and potential for misuse. My decision to engage with these tools is grounded in:
My use of AI is deliberately minimal, local, and sustainable - with a strong emphasis on transparency and ethical responsibility.
Should my stance or usage of AI change in future, I will revise this page accordingly.
